Love Promise Stories from Pine Belt Subaru

Subaru and Pine Belt Subaru believe in making a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work. We uphold that belief through our Love Promise Community Commitment. Every month, we select inspiring stories from customers and partners from around our area who strive to support our collective commitment and feature them here

A Perfect Partnership - Tammy B

Our Love Promise story continues to be successful with Pine Belt Subaru of Lakewood. We have had an adoption by one of their sales associates whose wife is also a Pine Belt employee. So we are happily keeping dogs in the Pine Belt Family! Pine Belt Subaru was a Platinum sponsor at our annual Comedy Night. Several store employees attended this event and helped make the night successful. Under new general management, who is a past adopter from PYP, we continued to have our October adoption event in the showroom. One of our pups was adopted as a result of this event. Subaru provided many Subaru themed toys for all the pets and pet owners who visited, along with Subaru leashes, collars, bandannas and more. They continue to advocate for our pups and some of the employees are actively seeking to adopt from us.

A Wonderful Experience at Pine Belt Subaru Lakewood. - Thomas R

My wife and I bought our first Subaru Forester in October 2021 from Pine Belt Subaru Lakewood. We were fortunate to have a wonderful salesperson named Anthony Santiago. When it came time to buy our second Forester there was no question where to go or whom to ask for. Anthony Santiago is very knowledgeable and professional. The whole dealership was a pleasure to work with.

Subaru Random Acts of Kindness - Scott M

Lifelong Subaru customers, Scott Musich and his wife, began their car search with patient expectations as they knew that the inventory was low and they should be proactive about their search. Coming from a long line of Subaru’s, they knew that they wanted to keep the reliability of their previous cars, but add more luxury. They met with our Love Promise Champion, Alexis Meroney, who showed them different models but after all was said and done, they shared her love for the Outbacks and purchased one with her a couple weeks after they initially met. Upon taking delivery of the car, the couple shared photos of their lively puppy who was missing one leg but had no idea! He was very active, loved to play, and was very excited for the new adventures in their Subaru Outback. Alexis saw an opportunity to gift the family a Subaru Pet Ramp so that their puppy, Ringo, could get in and out of the car with ease! They were so excited and grateful and they continue to show their appreciation to the dealership and Subaru for an awesome car buying experience with an extra surprise!

Finding Our Forever Homes - Sue O

The worst possible life for a dog is to sit in a shelter wondering if anyone will save them, give them a loving home and care for them for the rest of their lives. At Pick Your Paw Animal Rescue, we strive to rescue as many dogs as we possibly can and find them their perfect, loving, forever home. That is why, with extreme gratitude, we want to thank Pinebelt Subaru for inviting Pick Your Paw Animal Rescue to participate in their October 30th Pet Adoption event. Since PYP is a foster based rescue, we do not always have the opportunity to showcase are beloved dogs, and Marsha, Pumpkin and Charlie were so thrilled to be part of this exciting day. Each puppy enjoyed mingling with all of the attendees (and giving them “kisses” too), appreciated the treats provided, and loved walking around Pinebelt Subaru so they could say hello to all the two and four legged dog lovers that walked in their path. In addition, the pet relaxation location provided our pups with comfort and a place to rest. Charlie especially loved taking a break here by hanging out with his foster family and playing with all of the toys that Subaru provided. We are happy to report that as a result of this event, Marsha is pending adoption. We did receive many applications for Pumpkin and Charlie, however, they are still looking for their forever homes. Pumpkin (pictured) is an adorable 4-month-old mixed breed female who is settling in nicely with her foster family. She is sweet, fun, dog friendly crate trained, gives lots of kisses and is ridiculously cute. Pumpkin is super excited to find her forever home. Could that be you? Charlie is 11 months old and is such a good boy. He is dog and kid friendly and is house and crate trained. He is a medium size dog and is looking to settle into his new forever home as soon as a perfect match is found. How can anyone resist such a sweet boy? Both Pumpkin and Charlie are up to date on their vaccinations, microchipped and will be spayed/neutered. If you are interested in any of our pups, please complete an adoption application which can be found at http://pickyourpaw.org/adopt/. We have many other dogs that are looking for their forever homes, so please visit our website at http://pickyourpaw.org/available-dogs/ if you are interested in seeing all of the cuteness that is available. Please check frequently since new dogs are added all the time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Pinebelt Subaru for the invitation to this amazing event and letting us showcase pups.

Tail Wagging Joy for Homebound Seniors - Megan O

Caregiver Canines is proud to once again be the recipient of the Subaru Love Promise Award from Pine Belt Subaru in Lakewood. Their generous donation has allowed us to make sure our volunteers are well protected during the pandemic with PPE. This has allowed our visits to continue to bring joy to the seniors in our community, request for pet therapy visiting among the homebound seniors in our community has more than double this year. The pandemic is still affecting our lonely and vulnerable seniors and these visits are not only a fun social visit but studies have shown that weekly visits from a therapy dog can vastly improve mood and overall health. For people that no longer have a pet but wish to, these visits are perfect and aid in combating feelings of isolation and loneliness. Our trusted canine companions visit once a week for an hour and dispense their love, friendship, and affection instantaneously. Through the support we receive from the Pine Belt Subaru Share the Love event we are able to recruit and train more therapy dogs to serve our community to meet the growing need. We appreciate the hard work and dedication that Subaru and the Pine Belt family puts into this event. We look forward to another great year of Sharing the Love!

Point Pleasant Beach Clean-Up - Theresa S

We are so grateful to Pine Belt Subaru and their amazing staff who supported our hometown charity, Ocean of Love, Inc. in our most recent fundraising event! Their Love Promise Champion, Alexis Meroney, reached out in early April with plans to put together a local Beach Clean-Up that would directly support our mission to help families battling childhood cancer through monetary donations! The event made such a positive impact on our environment and brought the community together to help protect the endangered turtle eggs, remove plastics and garbage from our beaches, and support local families in need. With over 100 people coming out to support this Pine Belt Subaru Love Promise Event, we were able to remove 3 large garbage bags full of trash and 2 bags full of recyclables while raising $2,000 for our charity! It was so wonderful to see the support from not only a local car dealership but also members of Subaru of America, who took time out of their busy schedule to come out and support this amazing cause! They truly live up to their motto of being “More Than A Car Company!” With the help of these donations, we were able to continue financially supporting families battling childhood cancer by covering things like monthly bills, groceries, and unforeseen expenses! Ocean of Love, Inc. is so grateful for their efforts and we are looking forward to future partnerships with Pine Belt Subaru! From our family to yours, Thank you!

Safe Kids Ocean/Monmouth, - Denice G

The Pine Belt Subaru Share the Love program has made a positive impact on child passenger safety in Ocean County. Throughout 2020, Safe Kids Ocean/Monmouth, which is led by Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC), continued to work to prevent and reduce childhood injury through education and by providing safety equipment to families in need. Our team of nurses and health educators collaborated with the Ocean County Health Department Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Office, which enabled the team to identify families with a demonstrated financial and material need for a car seat(s). Once a needs assessment was given, determine the appropriate size(s)seat, families were directed to an Ocean County Child Passenger Safety Seat Program. There a Certified CPS technician provided parents and caregivers with a one-on-one tutorial demonstration of the proper installation and instructional use of their specific child safety seat(s) ensuring that the latest car seat guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the NHTSA were being followed.
