Love Promise Stories from Pine Belt Subaru

Subaru and Pine Belt Subaru believe in making a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work. We uphold that belief through our Love Promise Community Commitment. Every month, we select inspiring stories from customers and partners from around our area who strive to support our collective commitment and feature them here.

Pine Belt Subaru Delivers Warmth to Cancer Patients in Community

For the past several years, Pine Belt Subaru has been partnering with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) and Pine Belt Family Infusion Center at Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC) in Lakewood New Jersey through the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. This partnership involves delivering blankets, patient care kits, and messaging of hope to those fighting cancer. On Tuesday June 25th, Pine Belt Subaru personally delivered these items to local cancer patients in treatment at MMCSC. This amazing program has truly allowed these two organizations to not only positively impact the communities where they live and work, but sends hope, love and warmth to patients facing cancer. The Monmouth Medical team members expressed their sincere appreciation for Pine Belt Subaru who keeps their patients in their thoughts when deciding where to bring their generous donations.

HolBrook Little League

I had the pleasure of working with Pine Belt Subaru, represented by Michael Marquand, for our Holbrook Little League event, partnering with Michael Rossi for the Share the Love initiative. The support and dedication displayed by Pine Belt Subaru were truly outstanding. Michael Marquand's commitment to ensuring the success of our event was evident in every detail, from seamless logistics to enthusiastic engagement with our community. Collaborating with Michael Rossi and Pine Belt Subaru made the Share the Love initiative a memorable and impactful experience for Holbrook Little League. Their generosity and genuine passion for giving back to the community were instrumental in the event's success. I highly recommend Pine Belt Subaru and the incredible team, led by Michael Marquand, for any community-driven initiatives. Thank you for making a positive difference in the lives of our Little League players and their families.

Blood Drive

I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Pine Belt Subaru Share the Love Event with Ocean County Medical Center at Pine Belt Subaru, and I must say it was a truly impactful experience. The event seamlessly blended the spirit of community, generosity, and life-saving efforts.  Pine Belt Subaru's commitment to giving back to the community was evident in every aspect of the event. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was filled with warmth and a sense of purpose. The team's dedication to organizing a successful blood drive was apparent, making the entire donation process smooth and efficient.  What struck me the most was the genuine care and passion exhibited by Michael Marquand and his team by getting everyone involved. The partnership between Pine Belt Subaru and Ocean County Medical showcased a powerful collaboration aimed at making a positive impact on people's lives. It's heartening to see businesses not only focused on success but also on the well-being of the community they serve.  Participating in the Share the Love Blood Drive was more than just a donation—it was a chance to be part of a collective effort to save lives. Knowing that my contribution, along with others, could make a significant difference in someone's life was incredibly rewarding.  We were able to save over a dozen lives with this years blood drive.  I applaud Michael and Pine Belt Subaru for their commitment to create an event that goes beyond business, leaving a lasting impact on the community. The Share the Love Blood Drive is a shining example of how businesses can be a force for good, and I'm grateful to have been a part of it. I had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Pine Belt Subaru Share the Love Event with Ocean County Medical Center at Pine Belt Subaru, and I must say it was a truly impactful experience. Holbrook Little League

Holbrook Little League is a local Little League in Jackson New Jersey. Holbrook is a non profit organization that strives to give boys and girls the absolute best experience playing baseball and softball. As a local non profit organization, we rely heavily on our volunteers and donors. Pine Belt Subaru made a generous donation to our organization. We greatly appreciate your support and are proud to be sponsored by Pine Belt Subaru. Thank you for supporting our community.

Pine Belt annual blood drive

On June 27, 2023 employees of Pine Belt Subaru donated 30 units of life saving blood products at their annual Share The Love Promise Blood Drive. 37 people presented to donate but some were medically ineligible that day. The drive was run by Robert Wood Johnson Barnabas Health Blood Services and directly impacted patients at their Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus, Lakewood and the Cancer Institute of New Jersey at Robert wood Johnson University Hospital. Pine Belt Enterprises has a strong connection to RWJBH as their CEO, Rob Sickel is an active member of their Board of Directors. The drive was chaired by Michael Rossi , Service Manager and lifelong blood donor. Mike understands and knows the importance of volunteer blood donation as he saw firsthand the impact having a robust available supply when his dad was a recipient of multiple transfusions. Sponsoring a blood drive at the Jersey Shore a few days before the long July 4th holiday is a challenge but Pine Belt employees did not disappoint! They literally shared their love to local hospital patients by giving the greatest gift of all, The Gift of Life.

Pick Your Paw

We want to thank Mike and the entire Pine Belt Subaru team! We have had another amazing year and event at the Pine Belt Adoption Event. Pine Belt Subaru enthusiastically supports our initiative, a heartwarming endeavor focused on animal welfare and community engagement. Partnering with our local animal shelter for the 4th year, this program encourages individuals to choose their furry companions by adopting from the shelter. By doing so, Pine Belt Subaru extends Subaru's Love Promise into the realm of four-legged friends, fostering a sense of compassion and responsibility within the community. Through this unique initiative, the dealership not only showcases a love for cars but also a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of both two-legged and four-legged community members.

Subaru Family

Pick Your Paw Animal Rescue and Pinebelt Subaru Lakewood have a long history together. We first met Natalie, a Subaru employee, at an adoption event hosted by Pinebelt Subaru . Natalie quickly became a foster for the rescue and opened the door to a years long relationship between Pick Your Paw and Pinebelt Subaru Lakewood. We have since attended many adoption events at Pinebelt which always generates a lot of interest in our rescue pups and an adoption with a Subaru employee! Pinebelt Subaru was our event sponsor for our annual Comedy Night & Gift auction fundraiser, providing a great amount of support for our event. This year we attended Pinebelt Subaru Lakewood Trick Or Trunk event with several of our rescue pups and our volunteers. This event was held on October 21st from 11am-4pm. The turnout was amazing and as always the staff was amazingly kind, helpful and professional. A member of their staff even fell in love with one of our adoptable pups named Fireball Fred! He applied to adopted Fireball and we happily made this family complete with finalizing his adoption. We truly love the Pinebelt Subaru Family and the relationship we have formed with this amazing company. Thank You Pinebelt Subaru Lakewood!

A Perfect Partnership

Our Love Promise story continues to be successful with Pine Belt Subaru of Lakewood. We have had an adoption by one of their sales associates whose wife is also a Pine Belt employee. So we are happily keeping dogs in the Pine Belt Family! Pine Belt Subaru was a Platinum sponsor at our annual Comedy Night. Several store employees attended this event and helped make the night successful. Under new general management, who is a past adopter from PYP, we continued to have our October adoption event in the showroom. One of our pups was adopted as a result of this event. Subaru provided many Subaru themed toys for all the pets and pet owners who visited, along with Subaru leashes, collars, bandannas and more. They continue to advocate for our pups and some of the employees are actively seeking to adopt from us.

A Wonderful Experience at Pine Belt Subaru Lakewood.

My wife and I bought our first Subaru Forester in October 2021 from Pine Belt Subaru Lakewood. We were fortunate to have a wonderful salesperson named Anthony Santiago. When it came time to buy our second Forester there was no question where to go or whom to ask for. Anthony Santiago is very knowledgeable and professional. The whole dealership was a pleasure to work with.

Subaru Random Acts of Kindness

Lifelong Subaru customers, Scott Musich and his wife, began their car search with patient expectations as they knew that the inventory was low and they should be proactive about their search. Coming from a long line of Subaru’s, they knew that they wanted to keep the reliability of their previous cars, but add more luxury. They met with our Love Promise Champion, Alexis Meroney, who showed them different models but after all was said and done, they shared her love for the Outbacks and purchased one with her a couple weeks after they initially met. Upon taking delivery of the car, the couple shared photos of their lively puppy who was missing one leg but had no idea! He was very active, loved to play, and was very excited for the new adventures in their Subaru Outback. Alexis saw an opportunity to gift the family a Subaru Pet Ramp so that their puppy, Ringo, could get in and out of the car with ease! They were so excited and grateful and they continue to show their appreciation to the dealership and Subaru for an awesome car buying experience with an extra surprise!

Finding Our Forever Homes

The worst possible life for a dog is to sit in a shelter wondering if anyone will save them, give them a loving home and care for them for the rest of their lives. At Pick Your Paw Animal Rescue, we strive to rescue as many dogs as we possibly can and find them their perfect, loving, forever home. That is why, with extreme gratitude, we want to thank Pinebelt Subaru for inviting Pick Your Paw Animal Rescue to participate in their October 30th Pet Adoption event. Since PYP is a foster based rescue, we do not always have the opportunity to showcase are beloved dogs, and Marsha, Pumpkin and Charlie were so thrilled to be part of this exciting day. Each puppy enjoyed mingling with all of the attendees (and giving them “kisses” too), appreciated the treats provided, and loved walking around Pinebelt Subaru so they could say hello to all the two and four legged dog lovers that walked in their path. In addition, the pet relaxation location provided our pups with comfort and a place to rest. Charlie especially loved taking a break here by hanging out with his foster family and playing with all of the toys that Subaru provided. We are happy to report that as a result of this event, Marsha is pending adoption. We did receive many applications for Pumpkin and Charlie, however, they are still looking for their forever homes. Pumpkin (pictured) is an adorable 4-month-old mixed breed female who is settling in nicely with her foster family. She is sweet, fun, dog friendly crate trained, gives lots of kisses and is ridiculously cute. Pumpkin is super excited to find her forever home. Could that be you? Charlie is 11 months old and is such a good boy. He is dog and kid friendly and is house and crate trained. He is a medium size dog and is looking to settle into his new forever home as soon as a perfect match is found. How can anyone resist such a sweet boy? Both Pumpkin and Charlie are up to date on their vaccinations, microchipped and will be spayed/neutered. If you are interested in any of our pups, please complete an adoption application which can be found at http://pickyourpaw.org/adopt/. We have many other dogs that are looking for their forever homes, so please visit our website at http://pickyourpaw.org/available-dogs/ if you are interested in seeing all of the cuteness that is available. Please check frequently since new dogs are added all the time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Pinebelt Subaru for the invitation to this amazing event and letting us showcase pups.

Happy Halloween At Pine Belt Subaru

Caregiver Canines had a great time at Pine Belt Subaru celebrating Halloween! 10 of our therapy dogs joined in with rescue groups to bring some fun to the customers and employees of Pine Belt Subaru. Decked out in costumes from angels to super heroes our Caregiver Canines made the rounds and greeted everyone, especially the kids! We are so honored to be included in the Subaru Love Promise Program and we hope to keep "Sharing the Love" with Pine Belt Subaru!

Tail Wagging Joy for Homebound Seniors

Caregiver Canines is proud to once again be the recipient of the Subaru Love Promise Award from Pine Belt Subaru in Lakewood. Their generous donation has allowed us to make sure our volunteers are well protected during the pandemic with PPE. This has allowed our visits to continue to bring joy to the seniors in our community, request for pet therapy visiting among the homebound seniors in our community has more than double this year. The pandemic is still affecting our lonely and vulnerable seniors and these visits are not only a fun social visit but studies have shown that weekly visits from a therapy dog can vastly improve mood and overall health. For people that no longer have a pet but wish to, these visits are perfect and aid in combating feelings of isolation and loneliness. Our trusted canine companions visit once a week for an hour and dispense their love, friendship, and affection instantaneously. Through the support we receive from the Pine Belt Subaru Share the Love event we are able to recruit and train more therapy dogs to serve our community to meet the growing need. We appreciate the hard work and dedication that Subaru and the Pine Belt family puts into this event. We look forward to another great year of Sharing the Love!

Point Pleasant Beach Clean-Up

We are so grateful to Pine Belt Subaru and their amazing staff who supported our hometown charity, Ocean of Love, Inc. in our most recent fundraising event! Their Love Promise Champion, Alexis Meroney, reached out in early April with plans to put together a local Beach Clean-Up that would directly support our mission to help families battling childhood cancer through monetary donations! The event made such a positive impact on our environment and brought the community together to help protect the endangered turtle eggs, remove plastics and garbage from our beaches, and support local families in need. With over 100 people coming out to support this Pine Belt Subaru Love Promise Event, we were able to remove 3 large garbage bags full of trash and 2 bags full of recyclables while raising $2,000 for our charity! It was so wonderful to see the support from not only a local car dealership but also members of Subaru of America, who took time out of their busy schedule to come out and support this amazing cause! They truly live up to their motto of being “More Than A Car Company!” With the help of these donations, we were able to continue financially supporting families battling childhood cancer by covering things like monthly bills, groceries, and unforeseen expenses! Ocean of Love, Inc. is so grateful for their efforts and we are looking forward to future partnerships with Pine Belt Subaru! From our family to yours, Thank you!

Safe Kids Ocean/Monmouth,

The Pine Belt Subaru Share the Love program has made a positive impact on child passenger safety in Ocean County. Throughout 2020, Safe Kids Ocean/Monmouth, which is led by Monmouth Medical Center Southern Campus (MMCSC), continued to work to prevent and reduce childhood injury through education and by providing safety equipment to families in need. Our team of nurses and health educators collaborated with the Ocean County Health Department Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Office, which enabled the team to identify families with a demonstrated financial and material need for a car seat(s). Once a needs assessment was given, determine the appropriate size(s)seat, families were directed to an Ocean County Child Passenger Safety Seat Program. There a Certified CPS technician provided parents and caregivers with a one-on-one tutorial demonstration of the proper installation and instructional use of their specific child safety seat(s) ensuring that the latest car seat guidelines of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the NHTSA were being followed.

Caregiver Canines Still Bringing Joy to Seniors

Caregiver Canines®, visiting therapy dog program, and Pine Belt Subaru of Lakewood have been sharing the love even amidst the current pandemic. As the recipients of the 2019 Share The Love event we were able to provide over 2000 hours of therapy dog visits to our community of homebound senior citizens in Ocean and Monmouth Counties. With the money awarded we were able to recruit and train even more therapy dog teams now done completely virtually, provide all our volunteers with insurance to keep their dogs safe when they are out volunteering in the community and equip all volunteers with PPE. Caregiver Canines® is honored to have been chosen again as a partner of Subaru. Our clients have been even more isolated due to Covid-19 public health crisis. Weekly therapy dog visits are often the highlight of their very lonely days. Pine Belt Subaru and the Subaru brand understand the important role that dogs play in the everyday lives of people all over the world and we are proud to be a partner in the fight to end loneliness during these uncertain times by Sharing The Love in the year ahead.

Pick Your Paw Animal Rescue/Pine Belt Subaru

Our Love Promise Story Our story started at an annual pet adoption event at Pine Belt Subaru in Lakewood. An employee volunteered to be a foster for one of our dogs. Pine Belt Subaru allowed this dog to come to work with foster mom as part of our partnership. The dog was part of the PB Subaru family and regularly greeted and interacted with customers and employees. After a successful adoption, the employee continued to foster other dogs who ultimately were adopted. All dogs were adopted by either a Pine Belt employee or customer. All dogs also rode to work every day in a Subaru! Pine Belt Subaru was extremely instrumental in finding homes for four of our dogs by allowing these dogs to be on site and visible. Our pets received the ultimate benefit from this partnership as our agency received exposure by our pets being visible to the Subaru community. This also allowed more people to learn about us and visit our website to inquire about other animals available for adoption. Our first dog to be fostered by PB Subaru did not respond to her name, so foster mom named her “Subi”, in honor of Subaru, which she immediately responded to. This dog was indeed a true Subaru fan and lover! We continue to receive updates on all the adopted dogs, as they regularly visit Subaru when their parents come for service/parts/sale. Former foster mom lets us know she saw them and sends new pictures and updates on their lives. Attached are pictures of all the dogs hanging out in the booth at work at Subaru

Oct 17, 2019-Subaru Donates to Crawford Rodriguez

The staff also expressed how much they love being able to hand a patient having a rough day a blanket and a craft kit they can use for therapeutic art as well.
